How to Protect Evaporators in a Highly Corrosive Environment?

Good morning all!

We're having some difficulty maintaining our evaporator units in good shape due to the chemicals we use to sanitize. We have several units in several areas and all seem to degrade quickly and begin corroding and blowing out aluminum dust. Looking for ideas and what has worked in other plants to reduce or completely solve this problem. We're looking at Cal-Shield as an option if anyone has experience with that specifically also. Good or bad. Thanks!

Facing some similar problems with ovens right now.

We asked our hardware suppliers which chemicals to use and which chemicals to avoid, and managed our chemicals accordingly.

Lots of work, sorry to say.

It will require work with your equipment supplier, maintenance team, and your chemical supplier.  There are sanitizers out there that are more friendly to soft metals.  Ecolab has a newer line of sanitizers and cleaners specifically for softer metals.  I'm sure some other chemical suppliers have stuff out there as well.
