What are detection limit of your x-ray machine for Stone, glass and metal??
You will need to define what you would like to find - ie ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, glass, ceramic, plastic, etc. X-Rays are not metal detectors - they can detect many type of contaminants in food if they have been correctly calibrated and programmed to find the contaminants you are looking for.
You also need to keep in mind what are the regulatory requirements for foreign materials in your country when developing your X-Ray detection program.
I would begin with metals: 2mm, 2.5mm, 4mm of ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel.
Do not forget to include your X-Ray into your HACCP plan. You should have a CCP control here and monitor for these contaminants regularly to ensure your machine is functioning correctly.

Plus a Mettler pdf listing available test sample sizes for MD and X-ray units. The latter detector has samples for Al, SS316, Soda-Lime Glass.

We are using Glass Ball 3.0 mm, Ceramic Balla 3.0 mm, Sus wire 0.7 mm and Sus Ball 0.8 mm. This is used for soft baked product

It always depends on your country regulation and if you are exporting to other countries then you need to refer their regulation, what are the foreign material limit in your products. As per Canadian regulation max is 2.0 mm and as per USFDA it is 7 mm except for infant food.
And when you validate you should do it for all pack sizes, all types of food products etc.
