I have one question is it mandatory that roasting of chickpeas must be CCP? Even the roasting process is validated as prp after risk assessment and so far no micro complaint we have received. The temp is almost above 250 C for 10 mins and the roaster is continuous process

Hi Raheela,

I assume a Regulatory CCP not involved.

As a general (but definitely not 100% consensus) rule PRPs are (traditionally) not designated as Process Steps.

If you can see a justification in iso22002-1 to make it so, then you may certainly proceed/speculate ?. I could not.

So my answer is No but only if you can justify in a ISO22000 context or are willing to, in my anticipation, have a long, contrarial, auditorial discussion.
