Traceability of secondary packaging

We produce plastic packaging for the food products (deli cups, salad containers, etc.).  We are implementing SQF and one of the areas of concern is traceability for secondary packaging.  Do we need to maintain lot traceability for the plastic bags/sleeves that stacks of our product are placed into.  It is questionable if this is considered to truly contact the food contact surface.

Secondary packaging or direct contact packaging - salad container sounds like direct to me and that is not secondary.

You are going to have to maintain all requirements by SQF code on the sleaves etc as this can play an important role in a recall... example inner contects are found to be contaminated and it is found that a small undetected slit was found in the bags allowng for breach.
