Registration with a professional association as a HACCP
I have worked in dairy, seafood processing and fruit and veg industries in South africa and would like to know if l move to Canada. Do l need to be Canadian HACCP Cerifiied? Will that give me an uppperhand when finding work? Which certification bodies would be recomended. I have certificates in HACCP, FSSC22000, ISO9001 and Auditing.
Kindly advise. Will follow comments.

DO NOT spend your money here: https://fpsc-ctac.co...p-professional/ No one in Canada is requesting or recognizes this certification
NSF/SGS etc all have Canadian branches
Spend lots of time learning the Canadian regulations as well https://laws-lois.ju...-108/index.html
Completely agree with Setanta: Canadian employers require knowledge and experience, your existing certificates will be an asset. Concentrate on Canadian regulations.

Oops, sorry Scampi! and thank you Setanta:)
Really grateful for this group.
I don't know about Canada. In the US, companies will ask (or train you) in the following:
- 2 days (16 hrs) HACCP (or relevant HACCP in Juice, dairy or seafood)
- PCQI
- GFSI internal audit including GMP
However, I have seen several job positing for FSQA lead auditors that require the following:
- 5 days (40 hrs) lead auditor training certificate on GFSI standards (FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS, Primus, SQF...)
- HACCP training (normally to be recognized HACCP International)
FYI, some companies requires that you should be trained by a training agency that is recognized by Exemplar or IRCA.
In general, I believe, you do not need a new training if you have completed the courses mentioned above. However, if you work in a specialized field, it may need specialized training which is usually provided by the employer. So do not invest on repeated training.
But if have enough manufacturing or QA experience in the food sector and not certified as lead auditor, then getting certified as a lead auditor may open some new doors for you with auditing/consulting firms like NSF, SCS Global Services, Derka, AIB, SGS, DNV, SAI global and others.
