SQF Requirements - X-Ray Training

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding x-ray technology and training and can't seem to find the correct information anywhere.

We have an x-ray machine for QA purposes in our operation. Our production staff have received the appropriate training for operators and we have a designated RSO as well.  My question is, does a QA manager require this training? The QA manager will not be in operator of the machine, only observing operators and reviewing processes/documentation.

Thank you in advance!

Most SQF code around training is vaguely worded to allow the site to propose what it deems "adequate" (with the exception of HACCP training).

If the people in charge of making those decisions at your facility consider that level of training adequate, the auditor is unlikely to contest it.  They will be more concerned with the frequency of calibration or training, and a basic observations of whether or not you have the calibration or training performed at the frequency you said you would.  ie.  Say what you will do, and show the records that demonstrate you did what you said you would.
