Inbound & Outbound Trailer Inspection Checklist – Any Templates Available?
Does anyone have a generic inbound /outbound trailer inspection checklist you can share?
General items of concern.....
Are all of the following conditions for food safety met upon receipt?
1. Compartment door seals intact? If broken is the container a "Less than Load" (LTL) shipment?
- LTL must have a lock
- Full truckloads must have a seal
2. Is the truck clean and in good condition?
- No tree leaves
- No trash
- No visible holes in the container
3. Offensive odor present?
- Moisture or mildew present in container?
4. Pallet inspected for contaminates and pests?
- No insect infestation or activity
- No bird droppings, nesting
- No small creatures
5. BOL matches load?
6. Does the trailer show any evidence that it was used to transport any harmful non-food items or waste products?
7. No Allergen concerns that pose a risk to the material?
- Over and under segregation being followed?
8. Is the integrity of the load intact?
- Any damaged materials?
- If damaged materials are found was this documented on the BOL with the carrier?
- Outbound pallet is stable, wrapped and no damage?
9. Pallets are in good condition? No excessive splintering wood or broken plastic?
If the load or partial load is rejected list the reason and description in the Carrier Shipping and Receiving Form
