Recommendations for 3M-Neogen Petrifilm Incubators

Our 3M Boekel incubators are approaching the end of their life and we are in the process of shopping around for new incubators for our internal lab. The units we currently have do not have any digital temperature or humidity monitoring.

We currently plate 3M/Neogen Petrifilm AC, EC, CC, and RY&M. We're also interested in discontinuing standard AC plates and replacing them the Rapid AC.

I couldn't find any guidance on what RH should be for these plates during incubation, only for storage. RAC only suggests introducing distilled water if plates appear dry.

Could anyone provide guidance or recommendations for incubators?

Humidity is not a factor. As long as you don't leave them in for a week+ your agar won't dry out.

If you're sourcing Petrifilm directly from 3M/Neogen, I recommend reaching out to their sales rep for assistance. Neogen has in-house Solution Specialist. I've worked with them before and they are an excellent source of support, very knowledgeable and willing to help you.
