A relative of mine used to store WINE AND SPIRITS into PET bottles but kept them away from direct sunlight

Tried to convince him that they didn't fit the purpose

Successful. After taste was disgusting. He threw everything down the sink :)

His position was that PET was OK for water, so what can happen with wine and spirits ?
I can store wine in anything without fear of chemical migration. It takes a bit longer than 5 mins...
