What is it used for Jenny, direct food contact, secondary, transport packaging? And of what.

Corrugated box will be used as secondary package.12 tin Cans of Powder will be put in. It's single wall and manually close with tape. Please kindly advise.

It is less on food safety issues. You can check the below if you want:



a) Fluting: either is A flute, B flute etc.

b) Material of the flute: kraft or etc.

c) Grammage (if you can check)

d) Bursting strength (compression test)

e) Gluing part or stitching (the stitches)

f) Storage condition (Very humid area may weaken your box’s strength)

g) Number of stacking per pallet

h) You may want your supplier to indicate the production date as well

i) Etc.

Hi Jenny,

Max. load of the box and max number of boxes that can be stacked when fully loaded.
Box dimensions, how efficient can de be loaded onto a pallet, shelf or container.
If the environment plays a role you could look into the amount of recycled material that is in your box.
Also from a food safety aspect a would look to microbiological aspects.
Suppose a box get wetted and the water drips onto your cans of powder, still safe?

Dear Jenny,

You will probably find that it is a standard 0201 box, grammage 125gsm brown kraft / 125gsm brown kraft (GSM: grammes per square meter, kraft: recycled material) and if it is utilised as secondary packaging you will be looking more from a quality point of view as opposed to food safety, all box making plants will have traceability back to the corrugated board supplier and probably will be delivered approx 400 boxes flat packed on a pallet. Specifications, c of a / c of c can also be requested.

If you require a stronger box request "semi chem fluting" or "double walled".
