Hi there!

I hope you all are doing well. I’m not doing bad myself.

I was wondering if you could help me. I have to gather information about food industry and establishments risk based inspection frequencies. We have developed a risk classification system, and now we have come to the point where we need to assign frequencies.

It would be very kind of you if you could tell how are the frequencies assigned in your countries and how often are inspectors inspecting different kinds of industries. If you have any documentation you can send me it would be wonderful, otherwise just a simple overview of the subject would do.
Thanks,

Gireesh

Hi Gireesh,

For the BRC Food and Packaging Standards reaudit is 6 months after the initial audit. If no major nonconformities are found at the first reaudit then the frequency is upped to 12 months. If a major nonconformity is found at any audit the frequency reverts to 6 months until a subsequent audit confirms no major nonconformities.

I hope that makes sense, it is quite simple, but written down sounds complicated.

Basically it's 6 months unless you have major nonconformities then it's 12 months.

This is not a legal requirement it is a requirement of the BRC Standards, which I presume you know about?

Regards,
Simon
