ISO 9001 or ISO 9000?

I note that many - if not all - references to the ISO 9000 concept on this site refer to ISO 9001.
I realise that the ISO 9000 certification process takes only ISO 9001 into account - in fact it takes only part of ISO 9001 into account.
But shouldn't a site such as this promote ISO 9000 as originally intended (with certification as a secondary consideration) as opposed to focusing on just a small part of the concept?

Thanks for your comment Jim.
You probably won't believe this but originally the majority of references on the site were ISO 9000:2000. I changed them wholesale about a week ago with 'find and replace'.
You know - you're right though, I have bound the site up in the ISO 9001 straightjacket - with a big flaming bow on it!
Easily done as this is what must be achieved. The question is, do I want the site to be a three-wheeled bogey to expedite badge collecting or a Ferrari Testarossa of improvement?
I have no doubt. The intention of the site is to help individuals and organisations transcend the 'badges' mindset and aim for business excellence and then some.
I personally feel that it is imperative to use ISO 9004 as a guide to implementing ISO 9001 and have always tried to build the Quality Management System around these principles. So why have I overlooked it?
As part of the sites continual improvement policy I shall 'find and replace' at the earliest opportunity.
Regards,
Simon
