Tesco Fined Over Rodent Infestation

Tesco has been fined £25,000 after one of its stores was found infested with mice and selling mouldy food. The New Malden store in Surrey was taken to court by Merton Council after "a long history of problems at the store".
Complaints included selling mouldy food, the discovery of rodent faeces and failure to protect its storage areas.
The supermarket giant - which posted a 24 per cent hike in half year profits to £822 million in September - was fined a total of £25,000 and ordered to pay the council's legal costs of £5,500.
