Not sure
Is this the full list? I am missing some Dutch organisations.
Hello Okido,Hello Simon,
Is this the full list? I am missing some Dutch organisations.
Hmm you are beginning to make me wonder. Let's say the list is a good start but I agree it may not be up to the minute. I'm happy to add any other Certification Bodies if they are EN 45011for the BRC Global Standard - Food Packaging. If you can point me to them or them to me that would be great.
Thanks,
Simon
Sadly, either way it is bound to affect the cost of certification as well as the level of embracement! I wonder if the number of CBs on BRC-Food reflect a higher count.

Does the surprisingly low number of CBs reflect the lack of interest from the industrial sector to embrace BRC-IOP or is it because it is not a lucrative business.
Interesting points Charles, but it could be a little too early to say. I've just had a look and there are over 90 Accredited Certification Bodies for the BRC Global Standard - Food. However, the food standard has been around since 1998 and the packaging standard only came out late 2002. I don't know but I imagine there are as many packaging manufacturers as food manufacturers so the potential is there, especially considering there's no competition to the packaging standard (no IFS, no SQF etc.).
Regards,
Simon
And, also because of the increase in client's interest mainly for BRC-Food- I guess it makes good business sense to provide such support.
So for a starter, I know BRC-Food is seriously getting improved traffic and with EU Reg 1935-2004 coming on stream by 2006, I am sure BRC-IOP would be a serious contender by this year.

ISO/CD 22519 on traceability mentioned "Flow of Materials" as "Movement of any food, food ingredients and/or packaging at any point in the food chain"
Therefore, 'traceability" under ISO 22K would by and large cover the essense of packaging.

I did not seen that Charles thanks.ISO/CD 22519 on traceability mentioned "Flow of Materials" as "Movement of any food, food ingredients and/or packaging at any point in the food chain" Therefore, 'traceability" under ISO 22K would by and large cover the essense of packaging.
With reference to the development of the BRC Global Standards, wherever the food Standard goes the Packaging Standard is sure to follow (they are a bit like Laurel and Hardy). If as a company you achieve the BRC Global Standard - Food, it follows through familiarity and maybe some persuasion that you begin to ask your packaging suppliers to become certificated to the BRC Packaging Standard.
I'm not sure if it is a requirement of the food standard - but you get my meaning.

Regarding the list of accreditation bodies for the BRC/IOP Global Standard - Food Packaging.
It was recently found that, as a result of the BRC/IOP going from UK to Global recognition, that I was, in fact, the only person in the flexibles division of our group with any direct experience and first hand knowledge of the standard.
As such, this has resulted in my being sent out to our other plants in Denmark, Italy, Austria, Germany , Poland and Hungary to assess their current status against the standard.
This will be in readiness for them to apply for the standard once up to speed.
Getting to the point (at last), do you have an up-to-date list of all european approved accreditation bodies for me to point each factory towards?
Will try and send postcard from each one - suitably amusing ones could be posted on the forum, maybe to start a bit of a competition??
Any help regarding the auditiing bodies gratefully received.
Cheers
Mike
The Lond European tour begins - excellent! If we had some nerdy SaferPak Baseball Caps I'd send you one and you could send a photograph of yourself wearing it in various states of inebriation during your tour. No seriously a postcard and a short report from each place would be interesting; if you can think of a competition great; although as you probably know competitions and the SDF don't go well together. It was recently found that, as a result of the BRC/IOP going from UK to Global recognition, that I was, in fact, the only person in the flexibles division of our group with any direct experience and first hand knowledge of the standard. Certainly here you are: http://www.saferpak....c_suppliers.htmGetting to the point (at last), do you have an up-to-date list of all European approved accreditation bodies for me to point each factory towards?
It was up to date a couple of months ago.
If you're German and Polish plants need hygiene training materials, remember we have the booklets and PowerPoint in German now.
I know I've absolutely no shame.

Simon
Thanks for the info will pass it on to my colleagues during the audits!
