Dear Stephie,

IMO, the ISO 22000 would cover all of the basic need about PRP (GMP and SSOP) and HACCP. If your PRP is good, then design the HACCP. If your HACCP is good, then design the ISO 22k certification. As for the ISO 9001, its only for Quality Management System. The ISO 22k itself has clauses that similar with 9001, even some people says that ISO 22k is a "bridge" between ISO 9001 and HACCP. So I think you dont have to had all of those certification, ISO 22k would covers all. This is one of bright side from ISO 22k:).

But I can understand that some company (on previous times) always took the path from the basic. They certify the GMP frirst, then the HACCP, then ISO 9001. Then after ISO 22k announced in 2005, they willing to have it. But since it cost too much, usually they only extend the 9001 and 22k certification.

Another question from me, does anyone ever hear a company nullify it's 9001 certification after they get the ISO 22k?

Dear Stephie,
ISO 9001 is a very basic need of any Organisation to have the QMS in place. As far as ISO22000 is concerned it is very essential for any food processing industry. although it covers all the requirements of ISO9001 I think this should be dealt seperatly. HACCP and GMP are a part of ISO22000.
I think this info will give you a very basic idea of what you are looking for.

Thanks,
Take care.
Dear stephie,

IMO, for food industry better to set up the system that include ISO 9001 and ISO 22K.. and some food producer add ISO 14000 in there system..

If you want to integrate that system.. IMEX.. we only need one Manual....
Dear All:

Morning and really thanks the opinion.
Can i say, i can apply for ISO9001 and ISO22000 on the same time but is actually not really suitable / no need apply GMP and HACCP anymore?
But we also can do integrate the system manual for ISO9001 and ISO22000, right?

Thanks and have a nice day!!
All the best!

best regards,
Stephie
Dear Stephie,

IMO the answer is Yes and Yes.

The HACCP and PRP (GMP an SSOP) is a must to get ISO 22k certification:

You may take a look for this link to make sure that ISO 9001 and 22k is fully compatible:

Dear Stephie,

For ISO 22000, you still need to implement it based on the 7 HACCP principles and the PRP (or GMP).

When you go for ISO 22000 certification, someone told me that you can ask the auditors to prepare another report for GMP and HACCP. Then you will be granted with ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP certificates: - One audit with 3 certificates. But of course, you need to pay extra money.

Ahh Yes, the magic word.

Rightly or wrongly, many people consider that ISO 9001 has long become a commercial exercise.

It remains to be seen whether ISO 22000 will go the same way.

HACCP certification perhaps remains more "pure" ?

Dear Charles C.

Its nature that somethin which remains "pure" considred as "old fashioned"...

Personally I think conducting a serious and "true" HACCP Plan is much more difficult and challenging rather than conducting the ISO 22k itself... No offence...

IMO.....more dificult is to practice our "true" HACCP" .. sometimes people donot follow the rules, even they know thats wrong...

IMEX.. We have to make monitoring system to control the people.. thats part of ISO22K documents.. and we apply punishes and rewards system to guarantee the Food safety system is running well...
