7.6 Establishing the HACCP Plan – seeking sample policy statement

First, I am aware that ISO 22000 does not require writing a manual per 4.2.1. However, my boss wants to compile a lot of things like CCPs etc. and she wanted to model/structure it along the lines of ISO 9001 manual. I go through the standard and I am confused about several clauses like 7.6 Establishing the HACCP Plan. I started writing policy statements per ISO 22000 clause

I hope someone here could guide me, or give an example of a policy statement for said clause. If somebody can share a sample food safety manual would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Not sure exactly what you are after but maybe something like this:

It is company policy to develop a HACCP plan for all products based on CODEX principles and the requirements of the ISO 22000 standard.
Product HACCP plans include:
- food safety hazard(s) to be controlled at the CCP
- control measure(s)
- critical limit(s)
- monitoring procedure(s)
- corrections and corrective action(s) to be taken if critical limits are exceeded
- responsibilities and authorities
- record(s) of monitoring

Tony

Hi Tony-C,

I liked how you stated it, very simple and easy to understand. Actually it’s quite difficult to write policy statements for the whole clause 7 without guidance or example.

Any food safety experts who can help writing policy statements for the following clauses?

7. Planning and realization of safe products

7.1 General

7.2 Prerequisite programmes (PRPs)

7.3 Preliminary steps to enable hazard analysis

7.4 Hazard analysis

7.5 Establishing the operational prerequisite programmes (PRPs)

7.6 Establishing the HACCP plan (done)

7.7 Updating of preliminary information and documents specifying the PRPs and the HACCP plan

7.8 Verification planning

7.9 Traceability system

7.10 Control of nonconformity

I think I am asking too much but perhaps you can simply pick few clauses and shed some sort of light on it.

Thank you

Dear mind over,

Attached is a sample Manual. I have amended my company's manual to let you figure our what should be the structure of a FSMS policy Manual. I have intentionally skipped and molded some of the information as this document is the property of my company.

Hi M.Zeeshan

Thank you very much for the attachment and for making me figure out what should be the structure of a FSMS policy Manual.

I actually think I could become addicted to this forum.

Thank you kindly M.Zeeshan for sharing.
Thank you M.Zeeshan for taking the time to post a sample FSMS Manual. I'm relatively new to the field of food safety and quality and part of my job is the daunting task of overhauling our entire food quality and safety program. Having something like this will be a huge help.

Thanks Again,
Lane

Some of these are not really requiring policies but procedures or analysis. For example 7.2 Prerequisite procedures requires you to decide the fundamental conditions your operation should have in place prior to hazard analysis.
