Hello All

I am new to the group. I found your website as I was researching food standards.
I have experience in writing ISO 9001 standards but now I need to write FSSC 22000 and I am little scarred. LOL
If anyone has advice for me, or can recommend good reading I will appreciate that.
I am just starting
Thank you
Monika

Dear Moncia,

Welcome to the forum !

The first obvious suggestion is to acquire/scan a copy of the relevant standards, eg ISO22000, ISO 22004, PAS220 assuming not yet done so.

As you are already aware, FSSC22000 = Food Safety system + Management System, FSMS.

IMEX, the ISO9001 part will take care of a lot of the generic fundamentals of the management system aspect.

You didn't mention yr background so I presume it is in food business (somewhere). Or auditing, or ?

So what is yr technical background with respect to food safety ?. Probably the most important initial question is whether you are familiar / experienced in HACCP ?. This will rather orientate the follow-up to yr original question.

Monika,

Charles is right, if you know and understand ISO 9001 then you are half way there. The other half is HACCP. If you don't have experience with HACCP, you might want to find a class.

Fill us in a little bit on your background as Charles suggested and it will help us determine the level of help you need.
