Zero Non-Conformances
I've just had my second in a row so how common is it to receive zero non-cons from a BRC v6 audit?
Have any of you out there had a zero non-con audit or 2 in a row?
Same auditor or different auditor? Did he seem to be really digging into your policies as they relate to the code?
If so good job. I've never done BRC so idk.

If you are concerned that you simply got a "pass" from the auditor, just ask yourself if you truly feel like you were just audited or if you got off easy? You should know your quality system better than the auditor, and you most likely know what you really deserved. I've been through audits where I was actually disappointed with the auditor because I was hoping he would slam the senior management of the company with the NC's I knew we deserved. I've also been on the other end of the spectrum where I was irritated that an new "by the book" auditor issued nonsensical NC's. If you have a great food safety system, then chances are you are reaping the benefits of that.

Different Auditor each time, first one I was a little surprised and disappointed as I spotted a few non-cons during the audit, second one I can honestly say I didn't spot any.
Mainly asking as I only heard of 3-4 last year and 1 this year
Well I agree mostly with what Chris said. Do what is right and keep your system in check. If you have any issues with the audits being to lenient you could send a letter to your CB or to BRC I guess... but I'd make it anonymous otherwise your going to fail your next audit lol.

I agree in principle with most of the previous posts. We all know where most of our standard arguable locations exist, IMHO perfection is an unattainable dream. But what constitutes a minor/major etc NC is rather more subjective IMO. After all, this is a haccp-based FS system.
In practice, based on experience (non-BRC) of auditing numerous facilities I am invariably confident that if i find zero NCs I have been efficiently conned or insufficiently self-penetrative. But as to minor/major/? is where the arguments start.
I suggest that no-one has a perfect understanding of the BRC food standard's requirements. Including BRC.

When one of the auditors I worked with found 0 NC's in a BRC version 5 audit, he was asked to explain and was told that BRC required something to be added to the company description if no NC's were found. He wrote that the site had been refurbished and the management put a great emphasis on QA. In version 6 I have not heard of any audits with no NCs, usually they find at least 2-3 minors.

The minimum I've had was 2 and to be fair I thought both were uncalled for but there were other issues they could have raised.
It depends on the complexity of your site. If you have a small site with good management and fabrication, it's possible but it's rare. I've never audited a supplier site against the whole quality system and found no non conformances.
