Any suggestion guys? or link? :helpplease:

Thanks,

To start with, ensure team members have completed at the very least an approved intermediate HACCP course - possibly within the last 2 years. HACCP team leader 'should' at very least completed and passed an advanced course.
Are you needing to assess or just 'prove' competency?

hi John,

We really need to assess them, and i can't find any assessment tools from my searches.

Have they had training Mary, if so the training should have an end test of some sort that would demonstrate an element of competency, the other important part would be the technical / process knowledge they bring to the team.

Hi Simon,

Each member already undergo training, since we have a repeat non-conformance from our previous audit, their competencies were questioned by the management. So, i have to make some documentation or procedure on how to assess their learning based on their training.

So, i'm thinking that maybe, i would make a procedure on how to formally assessed each member.

If the training course involved some form of assessment at the end, and I believe that most intermediate HACCP courses do, then the award of the certificate should be sufficient to demonstrate that an assessment has been made and found to be satisfactory.

What if there's no training involve? I mean, the training already finished a few months ago, and we still have to do the assessment if they are still competent or not?

Jim, I think Mary is saying that in practice their competence is in question because of repeat non-conformance.  It is more likely they have the knowledge, but do not have the motivation, authority or support to apply the knowledge.

I suppose that's more of a challenge. Are there cultural issues that are getting in the way of them taking ownership of the HACCP plan? Are management pushing a blame culture that provides a strong disincentive to change?

If they are adequately trained and were assessed (albeit some time ago) then they should still be competent. The HACCP team leader should be driving this and supporting the members in the changes required for an acceptable HACCP plan. It sounds like it might be a change management issue and not one of competence.

Hai guys,

It's like that, but the issue lies on assessing their knowledge and skills on doing the task. They are provided with excellent training programs, the execution is the problem. So, in order for the management to not waste money on some random people who are luckily to be picked to be a member, we will try to implement a criteria, qualifications,or assessment for the rightful members who are truly competent.

Hi Joan,

I am unclear.

As per post4, did the "training course" include an "end assessment test" or not ? IMEX some do / some don't.

If not, IMEX auditors expect to see such an item in the training course schedule.  > validation of possessing a Certificate. > non-conformance ?

Sorry if this should have been clear to me from previous posts. It's near Xmas.

Personally i devised a series of haccp multi-choice questions and yes/no/why GMP pictures with a scoring system. There is a similar sample posted on this forum somewhere.
