Late FSMA Compliance and General Tips

Hello. I just graduated from university in May with my degree in food science and took a job in Indonesia. I have been given the task of bringing us to FSMA compliance. Any guidance on this subject would be much appreciated as I am still very green in the industry! Here is our current situation: 

We are a 'small business' (Our compliance date was Aug 30th, wasn't it?)

We currently export five different RTE products to the US (Do only these need to be included in the food safety plan?)

I believe I need to send a letter of compliance to the FDA. To where does it need to be sent?

Your compliance datyes for each FSMA rule are different.

By letter of compliance, you must mean registration with FDA, and potentially a process filing for acidified/low acid foods? Registration info and procedure is here:

Start reading all the guidance documents available, and read the final rule itself as well. You're right, it's a daunting task and we won't be able to help you with just a paragraph or two here. As the individual responsible there, you need to learn about the rules which requires quite a bit of study.

There are some free webinars to help get you oriented with the different rules, IFSQN's youtube page is a good resource.

You need to learn about the foreign supplier verification rule and how you can help your US customers make sure you're good to buy from.
