Take Them Off Our Hands

I know that this wasn't the original idea for this page, but it looked a bit lonely!!

We have around 100 white plastic drums that we need to get rid of.
They hold around 215 Litres, and are free to anyone who wants them. We might even be able to arrange to deliver them.

They were used to transport Rice Vinegar to our site in Burntwood, Staffordshire from the U.S.

Any takers? I can send a photograph if anyone is interested!

Sam,

They are no good to us, but have you tried a recycling company?

We deal with a company that buys our used material bags etc and he quite often has different types of stillages available that he has acquired from various collections and clearances.

Try the vinegar suppliers in this country. If there are any

Not a lot of help, but if you are stuck I can pass on the details of our man, based in Leicester.

Chris
I ahve tried a number of recycling plants, but nobody seems to want them because they are white!?!

The closest I have got is a compny in Derby that uses them as water butts for childeren's playgroups, but they don't want that many.

If you have a good contact, that would be great!!

Nigel Chambers is the man, but he is normally difficult to get hold of.

Worth a try

Chris

ps I have just had a company from the north-east contact me. I did mention your requirement. Wait and see on that I think.
Chris,

Any luck on the potential North East company and the drums?

As usual, anything out of the ordinary and these people disappear.

Sorry.

We have to landfill some items because we do not make enough scrap to make it economically viable to handle!!!!

Gets very irritating.
Finally got rid of them, well most of them!!

The play and recycle company in Derby have decided that they make great planters for schools!!

The only problem is that they can only take 10 a week as they only have a transit van!! But give us six weeks and the lot will be gone.

Thanks for the help

Nadine
That's excellent news.

I hate sending stuff to landfill.

Got my next 14001 surveillance audit in about 3 weeks
