FSSC22000 short/summary audit reports

Hi All,
Hoping someone can help with a quick question please.
We're BRC Food / BRC Agents & Brokers certified, but many of our suppliers are FSSC22k.
In previous years, they've been able to provide a short/summary copy of the audit report for their certification - this is very useful in the UK as, with the prevailing mentality of BRC requirements, retailer standards and transparency commitments, most of our clients expect to see a copy of the report from third-party certification.

Obviously unlike BRC, FSSC reports aren't written with the same expectation of being shared publicly, so the "short" report provided a compromise that was just about acceptable to suppliers and customers alike.

With these suppliers now moving on to the new V4.1 standard, we're being told that the short reports can no longer be provided by certification bodies. Can anyone confirm if this is correct please?

Thanks in advance!

Your suppliers are telling you that?  Why can't they just scan/email you what they did receive and let you sort it out?

I don't know specifically about that, but the last time I checked, the FSSC website allows you to search for certified companies, but no does not show audit details

Did you try contacting FSSC directly?  Or can you not request that your suppliers provide you with their own summary of the audit and it's findings?

I all but gave up on our CB for SQF and now direct those kinds of questions directly to SQFI

Hi Scampi,
Thanks for the input.
Yes, we're getting this from our suppliers.
They won't release the full reports for "confidentiality" reasons, but the UK no longer has any concept of confidentiality thanks to the major retailers pushing so much on supply chain transparency. The shorter reports that are formally issued by the CBs therefore struck a just-about-acceptable compromise.

The suppliers' own summaries wouldn't be acceptable to the customers as they wouldn't have been issued by the (hopefully) independent third party certifier, and a large part of this requirement stems from a well-intended but often poorly understood/implement reaction to the "horsegate" incidents a few years ago, and the corresponding change in retailer codes of practice. Alas no-one thought to ask whether all of those changes were practical, given that they don't really apply to the rest of the world :headhurts:

We can use the FSSC database to verify that a business is certified, but again this isn't sufficient for the customers.

I've contacted the scheme owner to see what they have to say, so will post it up here for reference just in case anyone else finds themselves stuck in a similar position.
