Rapid Testing for Listeria

We have traditionally been sending swabs to an outside lab employing traditional methods for a 5 day turn around time.  Can anyone recommend a fairly simple rapid test for  Listeria spp.?  Has anyone ever used Neogen's ANSR Listeria Right Now?

On my experience, 3 days is the most we can reduce and that is is by using VIDAS.

have not used but claim 24-44 hours

Hi, Jess.

Btw, why do you need the rapied method? Is this for cost reduction or as for your line release? As normally, the lab gives you 5days because the need to confirm if there is growth, but if no listeria colony growth in your media, should provide you results 2 days from analysis. I assume that you only swab to verify and not on a daily basis. If this is not a decision point for your line to run, do you really need a rapid one?
