Hi All,

The company imports a wide array of items from India and China.

Recently we have seen an uptick in illegal dye results from our external lab. In particular Paprika and Curcumins and similar spices.

Does anyone know of any rapid testing methods that can be done onsite to provide a simple negative / positive check?

(like for example a pH indicator strip functions or using basic chemistry techniques).

Purpose here is to give us a heads-up while our external lab is carrying out its 5 day UKAS testing.

On subject is there a similar inline check available for heavy metal analysis?

Thanks

John

I would be searching for new suppliers from a different part of the world, instead of trying to find a rapid test solution.  This isn't likely to get any better and now you're wasting time testing product that is likely to continue to fail

I would also be reporting those findings to the regulator so they can assist in barring the companies from importing

China---the country that brought you melamine in baby formula for crying out loud
