In case anyone had not heard/seen this as yet

Frozen veg out of McCain Foods USA (does not list the physical location of the plant(s) in question

I would also like to add that the finished goods manufacturers started recalling their products BEFORE this announcement was made

Was just reading about this a few minutes ago after seeing the notice from Hy-Vee last week.  Undoubtedly the recall list will get longer.

Wow.............this may very well end up being the single largest recall in history by number of companies affected

The saving grace is no one as yet as gotten ill and that my fellow foodies, is the end goal

The FDA has a link to enforcement now

I did some quick math and got in the neighborhood of 10 MILLION lbs, that's right 10,000,000 pounds with product being recalled with production dates going back to JANUARY 2016

Now, I ask you, where was the food safety culture????

"During an internal audit at the manufacturing location, it was discovered that finished product had been released on numerous occasions after receiving presumptive positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella; confirmation was not conducted"

Someone didn't follow their plan, because I'm sure the EMP plan didn't say, IF you get a positive just ignore it and it will go away...................

Wow...so terrible!

I wonder if this recall will set a precedent for environmental monitoring programs under FSMA. It will be interesting to see what the final response will be from U.S. regulatory bodies.

I just pray no one gets killed.
