Mitigation plan in Food Defense for Security Cameras

Started by , Feb 12 2019 09:47 PM

Not a full document. Typically, I've included a statement or two where "security cameras are reviewed regularly by authorized personnel".  Or, if you have dedicated personnel reviewing the security cameras you can provide their information.  I would make sure to include the security cameras as part of your food defense internal audit to ensure they are all working and picking up / recording footage.  I can't tell you how many times I've been in facilities where we want to look at footage only to find the camera not working or the camera pointed in the wrong direction.

Does anyone have an example document used in food Defense plan for reviewing security cameras?

Our cameras are physically inspected and signed off by a maintenance tech, on a Maintenance Work Order and saved in our cloud based maintenance software. Our camera recall (recordings) is saved to the network and backed up nightly to the cloud for recall if necessary. We keep approximately 6 months of video information.

Please tell me we don't have to have someone watch the cameras all day and night, I am in the process of updating our camera system and it could be 53 cameras, just wanting to make sure what everyone else is doing.
