HACCP training requirement for SQF Practitioner
Hi all, I am developing SQF program for a soybean-based food product manufacturer in USA and will be the main SQF practitioner. Currently I am seafood HACCP certified (certified by USDC) and also seafood HACCP train-the-trainer (certified by AFDO). One of requirements for SQF practitioner is HACCP-certified. Do I have to take a food HACCP training or my seafood HACCP certification is sufficient to meet that requirement? Thanks, O.C
Your seafood HACCP should be sufficient, but to be sure when you chose a certification body touch base with them and see what they say. The seafood HACCP is far m ore in depth then an online HACCP training.

I'm certified in both. My seafood HACCP manager course was a few years after my regular HACCP course, and it was the exact same course with the addition of explaining how to read the Fish and Fishery Products Hazards and Controls guidance book. In fact, I was the only person in the class who was seafood specific, and because of me everyone else had to have an extra 30 minutes of training (still finished 30 minutes earlier then scheduled, but at least one person cut their eyes at me).
So yeah, you should be good to go..
Thank you so much.
