Software for food compliance declarations and modeling for specific migration

Hello everyone,

I work in a pp film production company for the food industry.

A colleague wants to propose the purchase of software for issuing food compliance declarations and modeling for specific migration.

I watched the demo of the program and I confess that I didn't find anything special and it seemed too expensive (about 8000 euros per year)

I would like to know your opinion and if you use any.

Thank you all

Greetings,

My personal opinion, this is not a wise purchase. Why get a software to do the work you can do with microsoft word and a collaboration with a laboratory to perform the analyses you need for propably even 1/8 of the mentioned budget? And why would you need to model the migration? Either you are ok according to legislation or not. Industries don't really care more than making sure that you comply with law and provide evidence of this. Modeling is either used in R&D or in researches in Universities.

As a side note and purely for theory discussion, modeling the migration in your case is of little use. what would be worth more would be modeling the production so as to produce the same result under set "modeled" parameters that minimizes risks of faulty product and increases cost effectiveness etc etc.

Regards!

Hi,

Although I don't agree with your opinion, I appreciate your participation.

Hi,

Quoting "I watched the demo of the program and I confess that I didn't find anything special and it seemed too expensive", I just elaborated on your assessment about the usefulness of the program and agreed with you that it doesn't seem to worth the cost.

But if you don't agree with my opinion, then I guess you are actually thinking positively about the purchase?? You really got me confused a bit here!!!

Anyway, I hope others share their view too to help you more.

Regards!

Hello,

first i don't understand the need to dissect everything a person says but ok.
I've noticed that whenever someone raises a question it feels like it turns into a courtroom and that's not my goal at all.

I'm sorry you didn't understand what I don't agree with in your opinion, which is obviously not about the purchase of the software, but the rest of what you said.

I'm not interested in arguing with anyone so yeah, let's see if anyone else has anything to say.

Thank you and have a good day

Good morning,

Firstly this isn't a courtroom and to my experience it has never turned into one. Dissecting questions is helping people understand better what you need and provide you with a better answer.

If you scan the forum you will find very often phrases like "please provide more context" or "please rephrase for better understanding" or "provide more info/details". Answering my question could lead to a better understanding on what exactly you disagree, to help me or the next person that would like to help not to give you a similar answer.

None here in the entire forum has ever argued in a non-constructive way or passed judgment or mocked others.

What I don't understand though is this negativity but personally I have even less interest in arguing.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Asking for more clarification in a polite manner is none of the above.

It is justified and further for you to generalise about the wider conduct of the forum is offensive and wrong.

The forum is free to use and members share their time and knowledge here freely.

Please be respectful, thanks.

I'm sorry, be respectful?

I was respectful.

I simply said that I did not agree with the opinion and thanked the colleague for his participation, which raised a demand for these questions.

I gave my opinion as I received it, I apologize if I offended anyone it was not my intention.
