Hello Everyone,

I would like to know will I get any advantage by getting ASQ CFSQA certificate? I am already FSSC 2K Lead Auditor certified and having around 10 years of experience in food safety and quality management.

What "advantage" are you looking for?

I woud never discourage someone form adding training and credentials.   I believe it is very similar to a lead auditor credential.

maybe the certified quality manager or supplier quality would be another option that offer more variety.

I use to see employers looking for ASQ credentials, seems like its not so popular anymore.

Hi Kingstudruler1, Thanks for the reply. I am looking for new job related advantage. Especially when I see job openings in US, I see they ask for PCQI, SQF experience and certifications. For a new job change will the ASQ CFSQA give an advantage?

I dont think it would be a huge advantage to you because you already have the fssc lead auditor.   If anything, i could see a organization wanting a lead auditor cert for the scheme that they are using .  Honestly I rarely see lead auditor listed as required or even desired in job postings.  Internal auditor usually is though.  I searched a large job board for CFSQA.   There are only 3 postings.   The same search for SQF yielded 1300.   That might add some perspective.

ASQ is huge in other industries, but never really took off in food mfg in the USA.

In a food manufacturing setting, below is a list of credentials that are required or desired.

HACCP, PCQI, SQF practitioner (or other GFSI experience), internal / lead auditor, better process control school (for low acid and acidified foods operations) sigma/lean/CI, FSVP QI, TACCP/VACCP/IA,  ASQ quality manager/ auditor/ engineer, etc.

Thank you and it answers my next training plan. May be BRC or SQF training would be more appropriate than ASQ CFSQA.

I would try LSSBB through ASQ which has good reputation.
