Continuous Quality Improvement Plan
i work in aged care and have recently been appointed the quality co ordinator at my facility.
i am currently studying cert IV in continuous quality improvement in aged care by distance education.
my next assignment is i have to write a plan for continuous improvement and would like to know if anyone can help me with this.
i have only been working in aged care as a laundry manager for 2 years and have no experience in quality management at all so any help i receive would be most appreciated.
The article below will give you a basic understanding of the continual improvement process. Read it and if you have any further questions please go ahead and ask. It would be useful if you could tell us whether or not the continuous improvement plan you need to write is for the place where you are currently working.

Hi Simon, thank you for the welcome.
The continuous improvement plan i need to write is for my Cert IV assessment task, which has set criteria that must be addressed. this criteria includes
methods used to perform benchmarking
methods to perform benchmarking against other organisations
identification of processes to be benchmarked
establishment of benchmarking partners
analysis of benchmarking outcomes
action plan to capitalise on bnchmarking outcomes
establishment of a time line that supports all the previous items, with the sequence of events clearly shown.
my problem is that my nursing home has no benchmarking of any kind. i was given the position of CQI co ordinator in jan this year and the only training i have had is doing this course. i live in a small country town so have no one close who can help me.
any help anyone can give me is most appreciated
thanking you
Patti (maxifrog)
Benchmarking is just one strategy a company can utilise as part of its overall continuous improvement programme. Below are some good resources for you to read around the subject:
Performance Benchmarking

Avoid these ten benchmarking mistakes
Online Benchmarking Manual

Just writing to say a big THANK YOU for all the help you gave me regarding CQI information. I received word today that I passed all modules in the course and will be receiving my Certificate next week. I would not have passed without your help.
one of the things that i am working on now is writing a quality manual for my aged care facility. can anyone please show me an example quality manual. I also need an example quality assurance agreement/form that our suppliers could sign to verify the quality of the products we purchase from them.
thanks again
regards,
Patti

Franco's right if you run a search on google you should find lot's of examples. There is an example Quality Manual from a manufacturing company at the link below, maybe it will give you some ideas for how your QM might look:One of the things that i am working on now is writing a quality manual for my aged care facility. can anyone please show me an example quality manual.

Really this depends on the quality criteria you set for the products and/or services your supplier provides. Like the Quality Manual it is very individual to your business.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
