Competence to Train - Train the Trainer Course
During recent BRC audit, new (to us) auditor said that we must be able to show that trainer is competent to train, not just competent in area of training. This goes to the heart of Train-the-Trainer (T3). I am aware of several web-based T3 courses, but wondering if anyone has exxperience with them. How do you 'prove' verbal training competence over the web?
BRC requires you to confirm the effectiveness of training and competency of the trainer so as a trainer you don't necessarily have to have a training qualification.
I personally believe actual training experience is invaluable so my advice would be to pick a course that has an actual training element of conducting practical sessions.
I haven't done a train the trainer course but did a CELTA course a few years ago. The disciplines I learned during the course have helped me to improve my training considerably. It was good fun as well.

Tony
As Tony already indicates
, the text of this BRC-requirement is [...reviewing and auditing the implementation and effectiveness of training and competency of the trainer..]. i would go for a training evaluation including evaluation of the trainer's capability. Or maybe a documented internal approval of all trainers, mentors, coaches and on-the-job-trainers.BRC requires you to confirm the effectiveness of training and competency of the trainer so as a trainer you don't necessarily have to have a training qualification.
No point in over-complicating things!
