Hello,

Does anybody have problems with Bats inside the facilites?

We have a production and wharehouse of 20000m2 and 39ft height making impossibel to cath the bat and to control the entry points (they pass very small spaces)

Is a protected species and very hard to catch in these area and heigh mencioned above. They are fast!!

Some one have ideas or experience?

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards

Hugo

Shoot the buggers!!

Or feed them on chips until they get too fat to move, and get a cat! :silly:

Dear All,

I suspect that Azaam’s delightful file is basically Pro-BAT. Would be interesting to see a  milder, yet agressive oriented,  version of previous post, ie from the Con viewpoint.

Some of the techniques mentioned look readily applied to other species but the initial priority is surely exclusion. The netting approach looked promising to me but I fear could also go horrifically astray if mishandled.

My dwelling is currently besieged by pigeons due their detection of a daily dog feeding schedule in the (unprotectable) open. This species seem capable of (a) remembering and appearing at the appropriate time every day and (b) maintaining a 1-3 bird, alert position, on the roof in case of time variations. It was, anecdotally, suggested to try ringing the whole roof with numerous suspended CD discs, these reflect the sun light and continually flutter in the air, sort of aerial scarecrow. Total waste of time of course, especially when the first storm descended. I suspect this is the equivalent of the fabled, ultrasonic rat ejector. You can certainly fool some of the people all the time, but not so easily for the rodents IMO.

I also noticed the file made no mention of Belfries.

Has any one used ultrasonic and electromagnetic technology to deter birds and/or rodents?  I have been reading about the units that you plug into a electric power point.  I have been trying to find ways of detering rodents in the manufacturing areas since poison baits are not permitted (SQF) and I thought that I may be able to kill two birds (I wish) with one stone by detering rodents and birds (pigeons) by using these devices.  Can anyone tell me if these units work or a myth?

Dear Julie Compton,

Re: ultrasonic - The rodents didn't vanish but the cat did.
