Complaints CPMU
Hi All,
Looking for general thoughts on targets for CPMU. I work in whisky and rum bottling and we set a target of 9.5 CPMU for end June 2015 but we failed, we achieved just over 10 CPMU. What does everyone else set their target at and do you know of a food manufacturing best target. Some research carried out by someone else I work with suggested that 7 is a gold standard achievement.
All thoughts, suggestions etc will be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
I deduce CMPU = complaints per million units, aka ppm perhaps
Yes, sorry CPMU does stand for Complaints Per Million Units and it is the number of complaints received in a month divided by total sales for the month times one million. PPM is Parts Per Million and does not relate to this as that is more for allergen testing etc
Hi whiskeylass,
Can try these threads for some ball park numbers, a more analytical approach, and worst case scenario respectively -

based on above, you may be asking a bit too much but i guess it depends
Hi Charles
Thanks for these
As we supply many major retailers we are constantly judged upon CPMU and we have individual targets for them but they look at the category overall. We are waiting on Whisky Industry data being released but I want to have a head start in setting our target for 2015/2016
