Hi all,

Please advise me. The new manufacturer is installed the metal detector on site. The production line is continuous in pipeline to produce the dipping sauce products.

And can we install the metal detector before the step of pasteurization?

The process flow : Blending-->Homogenization--> Metal Detector--> Pasteurization--> Storage Tank with agitator --> Filling&Capping (Close system in red text).

Is this process accept?

Thank.

To me, you should install it between storage tank and filling. From the moment that the agitator could break and introdcue a foriegn object in the sauce.

My first choice would be after filling and capping if that's possible to do so (e.g. if they are in plastic pots), if it's not, say, if the pots have metal lids, then I would put a throat metal detector at the last possible point at filling.  It's the storage tank with agitator which would worry me.  If misaligned would that agitator create a metal hazard?

Hi,

is the MD defined as CCP? I guess. For me the MD should be placed to the nearest point where the product is finally packed. There are some limits for MD (cans, alumina foil etc.).

Your product is stirred. Is your product pumped in the "closed system" -> breaking can create metal foreign bodies.
