I might be outdated on these issues; two days ago I saw something that called my attention.
I saw a bait attached on the wall and aprox 20cm away from the floor? Does it make sense? See the picture

Sorry. No picture for me. And no evidence of an uploaded file. Either yr file type (??) is not usable or yr upload procedure incorrect ??
After you upload, there must be a visible record (below posting box) of the file having been uploaded, ie a listed, file name (P)/size. There is currently no recorded data under posting box, ie no completed upload.
If upload achieved, you set the cursor to a place in the posting box then go to the file (P) and click the "add". You must see text appear in the post box like "attachment number + file name (P)".
Then click "save".

I can only imagine :eek_yello: . What is your target pest for this bait? Well, its my first time hearing a bait attached on the wall, unless your target pest could fly or lizard type.

That looks like a rat bait station to me.
Among food safety types there is a common misconception that rats and mice can't or won't jump into wall-mounted stations and so stations should be at ground level. That is just plain wrong, as any pest management expert will tell you. Rats can jump and climb very well to reach stations that are properly baited and they have a great sense of smell so they will certainly know where to find the bait.
My pest management clients often recommend placing stations off the ground in food facilities This can prevent water and snail/slug damage to the bait (if it's outside) and makes it much easier to clean around. Stations that are on the ground and secured by chains tend to get kicked and disturbed which makes the rodents shy to enter, so wall mounting is also good option to prevent that. For ease of cleaning underneath the gap from the floor should be at least 150mm.
Pest management experts get really frustrated with food safety auditors raising non-conformances for wall-mounted stations. One factory had to pay thousands of dollars to their pest contractor to relocate 200 stations that were mounted a few centimetres off the ground because the auditor would not believe the advice of the pest expert and insisted they be on the ground. Speak to your pest contractor or his company's specialist field biologist (if they have one) about station siting before you request any changes; chances are there are very good reasons for wall-mounting this station. Ask the expert to put the reasons in writing and file them in your pest management folder so that if you get an ignorant auditor who wants to raise a non-conformance you can educate them on rodent behaviour and the efficacy of wall-mounted stations.

I didn't realized that before, upon seeing a wall mounted baits.
I daresay the auditor wonders as to the relative risk of cross-contamination for a wall vs floor located bait station ?

Finally I am working on that company ( which is a catering kitchen) where I saw those baits attached to the wall. And I think I got the answer and I would like to share it with you all.
Seems like have been proved that baits attached to the wall some centimetres from the ground are as effective as having the baits on the ground. The quid is how many centimetres from the ground so that mince and rats can jump easily. I was told by the pest control company.Regards

This must surely vary with a large number of factors, eg athletic rodents. My guess is that the location was a guess. :smile:
