How long should we keep the documents according to SQF?

How long should we keep the documents according to SQF?
And can the document be shredded and scanned?

It's not SQF who dictates this, it's FDA, USDA CFIA etc

FDA requires two years. Which is what you have to comply with. 
Not sure what the SQF code requires. BRC requires shelf life + 12 months. 

If that's not the two years the FDA requires, it's a no go.

 

Always go with the legislative requirements first. If some auditing scheme requires more, then you have to do that too.
