Good day all,

I am a member of the food safety team at my organization and we have been given the task to create a checklist that can be utilized after a drill to ensure that products/ materials are safe or were not compromised. Can someone share a checklist or form that can be used by the team?

Thank you,

S. Reid.

First, what is the definition of your "drill?"

you'll need variations depending on why you evacuated the building

Smoke will seep (obviously) into all sorts of things depending on the severity

Ammonia will show up in places you'd never expect (it displaces the oxygen)

Testing materials for residue

pests from doors left open

Good afternoon, i apologize for the late response. It is actually an exercise, a simulation exercise of an actually emergency e.g. fire or earthquake .

When it comes to fire or earthquake or flood, depending on your facility and proximity to the "event" the best course of action would be to either A) send samples of everything out for testing or B) condemn it all (check with higher up----see what the insurance provisions are for coverage then base your exercise off of that. It doesn't make any sense to spend $$$ on testing, if corporate will just bin it all anyway

You can google frequency and severity of these kinds of occurrences for your area, and include those stats in your program.....if none of above have occurred close to you (within say 100 km) then it's a non issue

If your in California, different altogether, they get all 3!
