Daily Calibration Using Pure Steam
Hi there!
Just wanna ask, is there anyone using atmospheric/conventional steamer for daily calibration for their thermometer to calibrate on boiling points (100c)? As I understand, under atmospheric pressure,steam generated at 100c. I am currently looking for a safer way to do daily calibration for boiling point.

I have used steam to do calibration checks in the past - done correctly I do not believe this presents a risk.
However I don't understand why you would need a daily calibration check, this seems excessive.

actually atmospheric pressure varies.
My method is to use a can of boiling water with a funnel over it to deliver a vertical flow of steam into which the thermometer is "immersed".
Strictly you should correct for pressure but most thermometers are probably not that precise anyway. Unless you work on top of a mountain.
Most textbooks use boiling water but IMEX some thermocouples dislike this method.
