Did anyone watch the match?

Incredible match. As a Man U supporter (from Manchester) obviously I'm happy with the result, especially for the likes of Scholes who missed out in 1999 and Giggs who is at then end of a great career and of course Sir Alex. Oh and my brother David who went to Moscow.
I do feel sorry for Chelsea; they deserved something from the game. In sport winners and losers are often separated by microns and last night the knife-edge of agony and ecstasy conspired in Man U’s favour.

Dear Simon,
Definitely a game of 2 halves.
Was extremely gratified to see Ronaldo's ridiculous penalty technique fail. IMO should hv caused deduction 1 point.
2hrs football > 5-6 kicks of a ball for a decision. Might almost equally ask viewers to vote for a winner (there must be a lot more people in Manchester ).
Felt very sorry for Avram at the end, so near and ........

And not forgetting 2 extra quarters. A lot of the 'foreign' player’s antics annoy me, including pretty boy. They are so petulant and apparently never make a mistake, ever! Not an endearing trait. Overall it was quite equal and I feel sorry for all the Chelsea boys (except Drogba and Anelka and...). I especially feel sorry for Avram Grant. Now there is a man with humility and great dignity and it really makes a difference. I hope the ruski billionaire sees sense and keeps him for next season.Dear Simon,
Definitely a game of 2 halves.
I’m thinking of a Euro 2008 competition, what do you think Charles? And others? If we do want to run one we better be quick as it starts in two weeks.
Simon
Dear Simon,
Yes Please !
Just to illustrate that unlikely results can happen -
May3rd (approx) - Portugal 1-4 Scotland
And a good chance for MVP -

I've had a couple of ideas for the competition, bearing in mind I want to keep it as simple as possible this time. We learned from past football comps that I tend to make them huge administrative burdens. I can't help it, it's in my nature.
Idea 1. Total goals scored in the competition
Idea 2. The average number of goals scored per game
I'm tending to like idea 2 as it would maintain interest right from the start and I'm sure the leader would chop and change quite a bit, so plenty of scope for banter.
Any comments on the above ideas or perhaps you may have a different idea. We can talk about prizes and stuff later, but I would like to get this up and running by the middle of next week.
Regards,
Simon

BUMP for Euro 2008 Competition ideas and input.
Come on help me out I'm offering to give a prize and England didn't even make it to the finals - you can't say fairer than that.
