Bulk Tote Identification Tags

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with some ideas to better tag industrial bulk plastic totes. We currently use labels that stick to the totes but, are hard to wash off and keep clean as they always leave a sticky residue. Does anyone have any ideas how to better tag bulk industrial totes that are used during processing? I had an idea of using job ticket holders but, I am having trouble finding big clamps to hold them to the tote that would be metal detectable to insure there is no foreign material contamination issues with pieces getting into the product. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

You can get labels that have a removable adhesive

What about laminating the information and then using some sort of zip tie you deem ok to attached it to the supersack?  metal detectable ones are available

Thank you for your suggestion of metal detectable ties. We do have metal detectable ties at our facility but, there is no where to attach the the zip ties to the bulk totes as they don't have a hole in them.

Not really sure which ideas to throw out because it depends on the risks associated with your process. Here's a couple ideas of the top of my noggin.

  • clear document sleeves built in (my go to)
    • Reach out to your bulk plastic tote provider, they're out there I've used them years ago
    • Could be an over time thing (i.e. as you wear out your current inventory you start replacing with newer style that has the built in document sleeve)
    • If your provider can't help, you might have to look into putting your own document sleeves on the bulk bins using strong industrial adhesive
  • Industrial reusable toe tags (some FM hazard)
