what is the recommended shelf life of sunflower oil in bulk container or silos?.

with and without nitrogen flushing.

Is temperature of storage area and oil will play a major role in shelf life.

Greetings maestro,

Sunflower oil can have 1 to 2 years shelf-life if stored correctly. However, in bulk or silos I guess temperatures can be high and there will also be air, both of which accelerate the oxidation process. So I would say maximum 1 year, until the oil starts losing its organoleptic characteristics. It won't be unsafe to be consumed, but things like taste, odor, color will not be the same.

Also, have in mind that if the conditions are extreme (too much of heat, moisture, light, air) for too long, the oxidation will result in high concetration of radical compounds, which are suspected for cancer forming.

Regards!
