Difference between life cycle and life span of an insect

Hi good day,
can anyone explain to me the difference between life cycle and life span of insect. I've been trying to search this and in the end it got me confused..
Does life cycle also included in insect life span?

Life span is how long a single insect will live
Life cycle is how long and how many off spring are produced so the cycle continues

Cigarette beetle
Average life cycle: 45 to 50 days
Average life span: 6 to 7 weeks
is this correct???
