Premium Webinar Description
Food Fraud – Preventing Economically Motivated Adulteration is a practical 4-hour online training webinar designed for food safety, quality, and supply chain professionals who need to identify, assess, and prevent food fraud risks within their organisation.
Food fraud is a global, multi-billion-dollar issue that threatens consumer trust, brand reputation, and public health. GFSI-recognised standards now require structured food fraud vulnerability assessments and mitigation plans. This training provides a clear, practical roadmap for building and implementing an effective food fraud prevention programme.
In the first part of the training, participants will gain a strong understanding of food fraud and Economically Motivated Adulteration (EMA), including global fraud trends, high-risk commodities, real incident case studies, and the key drivers behind fraudulent activity in supply chains.
In the second part, the course covers GFSI certification scheme requirements (FSSC 22000, BRCGS, IFS, SQF, GlobalG.A.P.), ISO 22000 links, and global regulatory expectations in the US and EU. Participants will understand how food fraud differs from food defence and how vulnerability assessment integrates with HACCP and traceability systems.
The practical section focuses on conducting a Food Fraud Vulnerability Assessment (FFVA), using tools such as SSAFE, FMEA, PAS 96, and digital fraud databases. The training also explores modern approaches including AI-driven monitoring of pricing anomalies, market alerts, and supplier data, as well as blockchain and digital traceability solutions.
The final section covers implementation and continuous improvement, including developing a documented mitigation plan, using KPIs and dashboards to monitor risk, preparing evidence for certification audits, and applying lessons learned from real food industry case studies.
All attendees receive training slides (PDF) and practical food fraud templates, an example vulnerability assessment form, a personalized IFSQN Training Academy Certificate, 30-day access to the webinar recording, and post-webinar contact with the presenter for support.
