I have a nonconformance of the 4.12.6 clause. "Where the company employes a thrid party contractor, all requirements specified in this section shall be clearly defined in the contract or the company shall be certified in the Global Standard for storage and distribution."
We do not hire outside haulers, when we sell our apples the customers are responsible for picking up their orders. What kind of an agreement can I obtain
to satisfy this requirement. I called my customers and they do not have one. What should be contained in such an agreement.

Hello HJD1272,

I understand that the products change owner (from you to your customer) at your door and transport to the customer premises is not your responsibility.
If this is true, you should explain this to your auditor. If you are not the owner of the apples during transport, you are IMO not required to set requirements to transportation.
However it can not harm to establish such transport statement. You just take all the, for your company relevant, requirements from sector 4.12 and place them in a document. You let the transport organisation sign this document.

Perhaps there are spme requirements regarding transport and storage condition in your specification to the customer?

Kind Regards,

Madam A. D-tor

Hi HJD1272,

I only have one puzzle. After final packing of the end product, do you store the products until the customer pick them up?

If after all processing & packing, you can demonstrate that you directly inform your customer, then they arrive in a short time limit and take away all finished products in the order, OK This is a definitely N/A(Not applicable since storage and transportation for end product are not your responsibility)

However, at least so far I have not seen this kind of factories.

Hope this could help you a bit,

Best regards,

Jason
