Hi Grassman

I'm afraid that you'll have to write you own, as each manual is as individual as each company.

The way I started, (and this will extract howls of horror from others on here, but i didn't know any better and it has worked so far ), was by taking each clause of the standard and writing up a policy document from it.Then take your policy documents and put the necessary Standard Operating procedures and records in place to show compliance with each clause.

Yes , it is time consuming, but once it's done it's only a matter of reviewing periodically to ensure that policies are being followed and are still in compliance with the standard.

I could write one up for you ( I am a contractor and that's my business) but i am not in Italy . My rates are very reasonable...

I'm entitled to my opinion, even a stopped clock is right twice a day

Another option is to make BRC Binders. It serves a dual purpose. First, it's an easy way to go through the BRC audit section by section. The auditor generally goes through the audit mostly in order in my experience (I'm prepping for my 9th audit at my 4th plant and have yet to make anything less than an A), so when the auditor is in section 2.1 you know exactly what you have as "proof" for that section. Secondly, it serves as your quality manual. No auditor can complain that a binder (or 2 or 3) full of everything you need to meet The Standard isn't a sufficient quality manual. Most of the time, you have most of the items The Standard wants or at least some version of it maybe requiring minor tweaking. Don't reinvent the wheel. Like I said, I'm prepping for my 9th BRC audit (2 slaughter plants, 2 processing plants) and no auditor has ever had an issue or raised a single question about it. There's already enough to work on and get into place for BRC. It's all about working smarter not harder.
