A company local to me supplied donner kebab meat that should have been......

 70% lamb, 10% poultry and 10% beef.

but actually it was.....

less than 1% of lamb, and the majority of the product was made up of mechanically recovered chicken, which is cheaper, and cannot be legally classed as meat.

Reasons I don't eat donner kebabs (in the UK) #5 (the first four are worse !)

At least it's not horse meat.

(  excluding petfood horsemeat/ NSAIDs!!!!)- I much prefer horse to mechanically recovered chicken!!!

-it is lean & very tasty!-(the only problem is it can be dry so you have to add some pork for fat!)

MRC is just plain nasty!

That's not the full report.

I'm always interested on what they find at these facilities.

Caz, in the UK, do they have a site equivalent to the FDA that shows you the full report with the findings?

it is a shame-the canny Scots automatically publish theirs (via local authorities) and they make for very interesting reading

the rest of the UK have to submit a freedom of information request

.....to be fair you can get any inspection report you want in the UK -(or all of them for an area!!)-but it takes a while!
