Hi,

There is long time that

I am preparing an BRC audit V7  (it is a new certification for us)

I need your help with the point 2.7.3.

If I understand well this point, It is necessary to check the efficiency of the actions implemented to manage  CCP or PRPo (like with ISO 2200)  if these actions are PRP?

Could you confirm or not ?

Thanks for your help

Hi Virginie:

Section 2.7.3 is supposed to be the next step after 2.7.2.  After you decide what the hazards are, (which is 2.7.2), you need to think about what control measures you will use to remove it.  That is what you are doing in 2.7.3.  After you decide what to use, either a CCP or an existing PRP, you need to validate that what you already have in place (the PRP) is enough to prevent the hazard.  All this must be documented.

That is pretty much what is required by 2.7.3.

Virginie,

(a) I suggest you have a look at the standard reference for the various, basic, haccp steps in BRC, viz, the Codex Food Hygiene document. The latter is much more readable IMO than BRC's inventively warped presentation.

(b) I suggest you study a typical hazard analysis form, many are posted on this forum. The form typically contains sections for responses to the steps  2.7.1 - 2.8.1(inc). (Some people prefer to include a separate detailed list for 2.7.1 but IMEX, auditors don't look for it.)

Kind Regards,

Charles.C
