What kind of expert advice does the code refer to in section 2.1.6.2 (vii)? Can this be the customer? 

 

Please advise.

The expert advice is your CB.  In the event of a food safety emergency, you have to contact your CB and SQFi within 24 hours.

This also refers to experts such as specialist clean up companies in case of a chemical spill or environmental agencies etc etc.

 

I have a specialist contact list as an appendix to my BCP which lists details for these type of 'experts'.

I've actually never seen a CB listed as the expert on a BCP.

 

What I do see is applicable experts listed - for instance for a thermo process facility we'll see/include the process authority person or for a facility that is heavy on allergens we'll see a listing for an allergen control expert.

 

As an SQF Expert I am normally listed on the BCP list as well.
