has anyone developed product design /development process/procedure for BC agents and brokers certification?
I am putting one together for my employer who previously does not have a formal NPD process.

Hi,
To add onto the above, for agents and brokers you need a HACCP Plan. For new product development the 2 areas you need to consider are 1) Is the new product covered in existing HACCP Plan
2) Is the product being imported / exported to a new market
If you have both should be okay as you are not making the product only moving it around and as long as you have assessed the risk you should be okay

Hi Neil,
Many thks for various inputs but can you reference the text in Broker Standard which mandates a "haccp plan" ? I cannot find any occurrence of this terminology in the Standard. for example can find things like -
The company shall operate a product safety plan for the processes for which it is
responsible. This shall be based on the principles of hazard and risk analysis, which
shall be documented, systematic, comprehensive, fully implemented and maintained.
In the food industry these principles are commonly known as HACCP (Hazard Analysis
and Critical Control Point).
Presumably does not exclude the use of a HACCP Plan (for which various interpretations exist) if preferred and self-defined (sadly neither hazard analysis nor haccp plan terminologies are included in the glossary).
Kind Regards,

One more question on this guys.new products could be:
1. products new to us as an agent and broker but part of the suppliers existing product portfolio. OR
2. it could be a new product for both ourselves and the supplier.
Does the Product design requirement also apply in scenario 1 above?
