Hi All,
The standards are here and the guideline of how they score in the front of the standard.
Consolidated Standards for Inspection Prerequisite & Food Safety Programs - AIB International, Inc.
But from experience, expect a few head scratchers vs other standards on scoring. I often say that I come out thinking "I agree with the score but not how they got there." They will hit you twice at least on some points. So for example, if they feel a finding is indicative of poor leadership or auditing you will get non conformities in those sections without direct evidence that was root cause. But let's face it, it probably was at least in part.
What I have found though is as always, be nice with the auditor! After finding AIB baffling for a couple of years, I finally realised the upsides. Firstly it's almost all factory based and DETAILED. These guys have found things I haven't and it's rare I can say that about any auditor. Secondly, they do all use moments to educate. Ok for sure some are a bit patronising but I put up with it for the occasional gem. But lastly, I've found they, more than other auditors, are open to a bit of discussion on scores.
I've only had one bad experience where the guy was very keen on sharing all of his experience when I had 20 years more. He was not bothered nor interested to find out anything about the people he was auditing. But you find idiots everywhere. I zipped my mouth shut and had a large glass of wine when I got home wondering if I could get away with a mug for work with "thank f--- he's gone" on it.
